Job Summary
Makeba is looking for a Country Manager for Nigeria to oversee our operations in this country. This position involves developing a new business from the ground up with a focus on building a merchant distribution network initially and developing user acquisition campaign. This position requires exceptional negotiation and deal closing skills, relationship building, trend spotting, strategic thinking and communication. Experience in mobile sales, distribution and banking strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Research prospective accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads and follow through to a successful agreement
  • Understand the target markets, including industry, company, project, company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract clients
  • Recruit and Train Staff including hiring, training of local employees
  • Collaborate with design and sales teams to ensure that requirements are met
  • Develop Operational Plans, specifically local distribution and sales growth plans while making sure that the company adheres to all country regulations
  • Maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects
  • Possess a solid technical understanding of our products, our positioning and our competition in the industry
  • Is abreast of the latest industry developments
  • Implement Brand Strategy, including advertising and promotion plans in alignment with global marketing strategy
  • Generate Progress Reports such as weekly, monthly, quarterly sales progress reports and budgets, new business leads and regulatory compliance


Qualifications
  • BA or BS degree
  • Five years proven track record in Sales in mobile communications, banking or consumer products
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work with little or no supervision and possess the ability to assemble and lead teams
  • Deep knowledge of te Nigerian market, its local politics and regulations
  • bility to maintain a strong customer-focus orientation at all times
  • Superior presentation and communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate information, whether technical or non-technical to staff members and customers, in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with emphasis on priorities, goal setting and analysis
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Technical skills required to understand and propose products or solutions by focusing on client requirements
